The Pearson 385 is a renowned cruising yacht, she offers a centre cockpit and excellent space below for her size. These yachts are medium displacement, semi-long keel with skeg, giving a comfortable ride in all conditions. BESTLA has proven herself as a world girdler and she comes to the market absolutely stacked with gear and upgraded. She has good capacity fuel and water tanks and most of a cruiser's wish list for equipment. In boom furling main is very easy to operate. A good sail inventory plus a telescopic bowsprit and spinnaker pole on mast.
The yacht’s light and airy interior boasts a well-designed sea going galley, two double cabins and one bathroom/head/separate shower cubical. The second head has been allocated as a storage/workshop, this yacht is stacked with equipment and spares. If required the workshop can be returned to the original head. The main saloon no longer has a central table but has portable tables when not under sail, making the saloon yet more spacious.

BESTLA has a waste water system that has an option of direct overboard discharge or utilising the holding tank and macerator discharge pump.
The DC electrical system includes two battery banks: Bank 1 is the main house battery, comprising three 12 VDC -160 AH AGM batteries, combined with a 12V 100Ah Bank 2 as the backup. Charged by a VICTRON DC to DC charger from the main house bank. The house bank is charged by the engine alternator a PRESTO lite 90 amp.
The batteries were replaced in August 2025. The Presto Lite alternator was refurbished in August 2025, also a new regulator was fitted.
AC Electrical System
The AC electrical system was originally designed for operation at 120VAC. Since the upgrade in mid 2025 the system was charged to a 240 VAC system. A new 240VAC -2500 Watt inverter was installed to provide power throughout the yacht. Alternatively, the WELLPRO 3.3KW 240VAC portable generator can be used to provide power or charge the batteries through the battery charger. Provide power to the air conditioner.
A 240-120VAC transformer is available to operate the odd 120 volts appliances and hand tools. The transformer can be operated through the inverter.
The Solar system consists of two (2) x 330w panels connected to a VICTRON MPPT 100/ 50 Smartsolar charger
The wind generator is a MarineKinetix MK450 Marine Wind Turbine. This wind generator is mounted at the top of a pole on the stern. The maximum power output of the wind generator is 400 watts. The wind generator was removed recently, bearings replaced and the burnt connected was replaced.
The total pot water tank capacity is 440 litres. Port and STBD tanks each with 220 litres
The total fuel tankage is 368 litres, 200 litres in forward tank and 168 litres in aft day tank. A new tank monitoring gauge system has been installed allowing view of the pot water and fuel tanks.
The standing rigging was replaced in 2014 and also the six internal chainplates were replaced. The chainplates for the backstay and forestay were not replaced as they were found in good condition.
In November 2025 the standing rigging and chain plates were visually inspected by WORX Rigging Company in Langkawi. One intermediate shroud stay was replaced. All were found in good condition.
