The schooner SJOSTRUM was commissioned by her present owner and has been a worldwide cruising home to him and many adventurers since her launch in Richmond California in 2006. Designed by Bud Macintosh, a prolific American builder of gaff rigged schooners, SJOSTRUM is a massively strong build. Double diagonal strip planked Douglas fir, saturated with epoxy and sheathed with grp gives such a substantial 5 inch thick hull ! Her beautiful rig comprises two solid Spruce masts with a mixture of wire and synthetic standing rigging. On deck she offers a very safe and comfortable environment, fully encloseable cockpit, 36 inch high solid guard rail and newly painted anti skid decks. The seated cockpit is a neat oval design and extremely secure. Down below the interior offers a maximum of 13 berths with excellent amenities for all including full airconditioning.
SJOSTRUM underwent a two year refit in 2020. The masts were removed for varnishing, some new standing rigging, the 400hp engine was thoroughly serviced plus all new gauges, the generator effectively rebuilt, all new cabin soles, much new deck hardware, complete hull job and new rudder, new cabin soles, new LED lighting and so much more.
Only regretfully for sale, this schooner is a true turn key prospect and your early viewings are highly recommended.
