ConverterThis 17 meter Roberts design is truly a large volume yacht. Safe center cockpit with a hard Bimini. A beam of 17 feet combines the yacht as a whole to give massive interior space with headroom exceeding 7' 6''. 'Gitana' is offered for sale primarily as an excellent live-aboard, present owners enjoyed her as such for eight years in Singapore, but with some extra investment she will be ready to explore oceans again also.
She offers 4 cabins, 2 heads both with shower facilities, a large saloon, a large kitchen – equipped with a gimbled new 4 burner Stainless Steel marine stove, domestic standing fridge and a numerous storage cabinets - and a maintenance workshop. The large stern cabin with attached head with shower facilities can sleep 3, the bow cabin accommodate 2 people with it double berth, the cabin on the port side accommodate 2 people on it double decker single bunk berth and finally the spare cabin on the port side can accommodate 2 people on it double decker single bunk berth. There is a new generation computerized Pro-marine 4-bank battery monitoring & conditioning charger, plus all the boat lighting is already LED drawing less than 4 amps with ‘all the lights and cabin berth cooling fans on’. In addition she has 6 Solar panels mounted on the hard Bimini and a marine wind turbine astern.
Although both masts have new Sunbrella sail bags the sails on “Gitana” are getting a little “tired”, thus the reduced price for such a large liveable yacht. The good quality Stainless Steel standing rigging is still intact, however, it is recommended to survey and also have re-tuning done.
The engine is still strong and reliable, delivered happily to Langkawi from Singapore. She can still motor at 6-7knots at a low RPM. In fact the engine has recently been stripped and reconditioned, fully flushed, repainted and all hoses replaced, new fuel pump, fresh water header, exhaust hose, and exhaust water trap stripped welded and renovated in 2015.
In 2017, all new Raymarine equipment were installed which include eS97 9” HYBRIDTOUCH Multifunction Display, i60 WIND Package, i50 DEPTH Package, EVOLUTION AUTOPILOT system with p70 Control Head. These complete the other equipment installed in “Gitana”, the Vesper WatchMate Vision AIS Class B system and VHF Radio. These navigation electronics are integrated into the Raymarine eS97 HYBRIDTOUCH multi function display.
In 2014 The hull had a total of eight coats of West System epoxy including the last three of West System epoxy encapsulated copper coat. Owners hauled every 18 months. The yacht has been cared for up to today.
