Philip Leonard Rhodes (1895-1974) was a prolific boat and ship
designer of extraordinary range, and among connoisseurs, one of
the most talked-about and versatile American yacht designers.
His clients ranged from
Rockefellers to Sears and Roebuck.
His design of the 12 Meter class “Weatherly” won the America's
Cup in 1962, which inspired the building of this classic yacht
in the same year. Built to Lloyds 100 A1 classification, her
plans are held by the "Mystic Seaport Museum" in Connecticut
USA.. Under her mast is a Silver Dollar, amongst other coins
collected during several circumnavigations. The centerboard
(draft 1.90mtr to 3.20mtr) ensures both performance as well as
access to all ports and anchorages. The beautiful new interior
is a wonderful mix of stately comfort and the latest technology,
but retaining all of the elements of her rich history.
Inspection by appointment, with appointed brokers YBC. |
