Description:
The vessel has not had a great deal
of use. The saloon mahogany woodwork is in beautiful condition.
She sails very well in a light breeze, say less than 10kts and
will remain steady when cutting through a swell and keeps a
sense of direction in more variable conditions. It holds its
course steadily and does not get pushed about a direct result
of a well shaped hull with strength and the bulb keel.
At 11,500kg its an ideal weight to
provide a smooth, solid feeling. It provides a sense of
confidence in ride and holding its course
rather than to and fro.
150NM per day is not difficult for this 47ft sail
boat if you are on a cruising passage.
With two large Harken 55.2 and
two smaller 44 model self-tailing two-speed Harken winches
located on the coach roof adjacent to companion way, sailing
short handed is not difficult. Twin helms are a superb feature;
more enjoyment and better control.
It is
so much better to look down the rail of boat and see what lies
ahead rather than try to see over the coach roof. The feeling
through each of the helms is positive feedback.
Bavaria yachts,
built in Germany, are among the best of all production yachts
and sail far better than many vastly more expensive boats.
This fabulous sailing yacht is as
new and ready to sail-away today. |
