Based at the seaside resort of Knysna, South Cape, the Knysna Yacht Company has a state of the art factory where the finest luxury catamarans are meticulously handcrafted for the discerning taste, by master boat builder Kevin Fouche.

The Knysna catamarans are designed for individuals with a desire to explore the world in a high performance yacht, which is purpose built, designed, and engineered for serious blue water sailing and demanding sea conditions, such as the rugged South African coastline.

Working closely with top boat designer, Angelo Lavranos, a team of specialised and highly skilled craftsmen and women, combined with the latest technology, the boatyard is able to offer top-end finishes, the finest construction detailing and engineering finesse to compete globally at the highest level.

'Vertical Time' has only been cruising locally since her arrival in these waters after her maiden voyage out of Knysna in 2003 and has made a very comfortable cruising home. She is fast, has notched 18 knots, and has won many Langkawi regatta prizes. Everywhere in the interior has a clean, modern and light feel. One owner from new she has been constantly cared for. November 2011 new non slip deck paint, December 2011 whole interior painted white stippled matt.

Accommodation:

This is a four double cabin layout and the aft cabins were designed as full width berths. Two heads , each with a shower and bathtub. The headroom throughout is over 6' and nowhere in this cat feels cramped. Solid teak and holly cabin soles. A domestic air conditioner has been permanently installed and may be run from either shore power or the genset. A one off design watermaker can produce up to 50 gallons per hour. A quality stereo system with sub woofer remains onboard. A new pc is needed to employ the Inmarsat. There are no veneers in the yacht and the solid wood and plain white deck heads and bulkheads make for such a clean and attractive interior.

Galley:

The galley is up and has a four burner gas stove, 12' deep stainless steel sink, 12v fridge and freezer ( 120 litres ). Good cupboard space but extra pantry space is located immediately below in the port hull.

Showers:

Two. Located at the front of each hull, they combine with two bathtubs. No hot water.

Toilets:

Two. Manual. No holding tanks.

Electrics & Batteries:

Two large capacity 12volt batteries ( new ) for house and engine service. Each is an 8D-AGM. Xantrex battery charger. Four solar panels and a Pro Star 30 charge controller. One off design watermaker. Two automatic bilge pumps.
