1987 Westsail 32 - GBP 57,530
The Westsail 32 goes down in history as the boat that launched a thousand dreams. She’s generally credited for starting the cruising boom of the 1970s which brought “the cruising life” out of the fringes and into the mainstream. Designed by Bill Crealock as a heavy displacement double ender for long distance cruising, this boat is the epitome of seaworthiness; built strong and heavy with huge interior volume. 'Aloha' is a New Custom version built in 1986 and commissioned in 1987. A larger cockpit with propane and storage lazarettes, a seated navigation area, a quarter berth, no pilot berths hence better storage space and wider settees, all in addition to many cosmetic improvements.

'Aloha's present owners have owned her since 1996 and their circumnavigation began in September 2000. Over the years they have conscientiously maintained, and when appropriate upgraded the equipment to ensure a safe and capable ocean going yacht. Records on maintenance and repair have been kept.

In 2007/8 Aloha had had a major refit in New Zealand. Engine reconditioned, new mainsail, new yankee, new standing and running rigging, new canvas, new interior upholstery (2008), new electric windlass, the keel was peeled and coated with Vinylester with fibreglass matt and finally topped with 5 barrier coats.

She was then ready for the continued journey across the Indian Ocean, Atlantic and home. 'Aloha' has been put up for sale, regretfully, due to ill health.

Last haul out was May 2011.
